Robot vacuums lose value fast, so a two year old Roborock or Roomba can cost a third of its new price. The things to check are the battery, the app link to the seller's account and the self-emptying or mopping dock, which is where most of the money is.
Roborock is the most common brand on Marktplaats, from the budget Q series to the S8 and newer flagship models. Dreame, Ecovacs (Deebot), Xiaomi, Eufy and iRobot (Roomba) are also widely sold. Robots with lidar (a spinning turret on top) map the house accurately and clean in neat lines. Camera-based robots work well too. Cheap robots without mapping bounce around randomly and miss spots.
Mopping robots range from a simple wet cloth to rotating pads and docks that wash and dry the mops. Self-emptying docks save you from emptying the small bin after every run.
Most robots are linked to the seller's app account. Before you take it, ask the seller to remove the robot from their app and do a factory reset. If they don't, you may not be able to add it to your account. Test that you can connect it to your phone at the pickup if possible, or at least see it working in their app.
Check that the brand's app still supports that model. Smaller brands and very old models sometimes lose app or cloud support, which can leave a robot without mapping or scheduling.
A worn battery means the robot returns to the dock halfway through cleaning. Ask how long it runs on a full charge and how big the house is. Replacement batteries for popular Roborock and Roomba models are available for EUR 30-70, so a weak battery isn't a dealbreaker on a good robot, but it should lower the price.
Ask the seller to charge the robot fully before you arrive, then work through this list.
Robot vacuums work best on open floors with few cables, toys and loose rugs. Thick rugs with long pile, high door thresholds (above about 2 cm) and dark carpets can confuse cheaper models. Most Dutch apartments suit them well. Before buying, think about where the dock goes: it needs a socket and some free space on both sides, and a large all-in-one dock is about the size of a small cabinet.
Mopping docks hold dirty water. If it was left standing, they can smell badly and grow mould. Look into the dirty water tank and the washing tray. Cleanable, but it tells you how the robot was looked after.
Listings for just a dock, or a robot without a dock, are common. A robot without its charging dock is not much use, and docks for flagship models are expensive. Parts-only robots ('defect', 'voor onderdelen') are mainly for people repairing the same model.
On vindje.com you can ask for something like 'Roborock with lidar and self-emptying dock, battery still runs an hour, under 250 euro within 20 km' and leave out the robots sold without a dock.

Rough Marktplaats asking prices in the Netherlands. Condition, age and season move them a lot.
Describe what you want in your own words and vindje.com searches Marktplaats in Dutch, then reads every listing and keeps only the real matches. For example:
Roborock robot vacuum with lidar and self-emptying dock, battery runs at least an hour, removed from previous app account, under 250 euro, within 20 kmSearch Marktplaats like this
The seller removes the device in their app and you then do a factory reset. Without that step, it may refuse to pair with your account.
Often a few years of daily use. A worn battery shows as short runtimes; replacement batteries are available for popular models.
For hard floors, a robot with rotating mop pads and a washing dock does a decent job. Simple wet-cloth mops add little.
It can be, but check that the app supports the model and that spare parts are available. Lidar robots from other brands usually map better at the same price.
